Groomers Corner - with Maddie Brobst from Peteys Pampered Pups

Maddie of the 4 Pawz Spaw and Peteys Pampered Pups talks all things grooming and provides some simple tips/tricks to keep your pups coat healthy and in good shape before their next Spaw-Day!

At the 4Pawz Spaw and Peteys Pampered Pups our number one priority is to give your pup the best spaw day they have ever had. We keep it low stress for the pups and our focus is to reduce stress levels while grooming while still getting your pup to look fabulous! Unfortunately groomers can't do it all, which is why education is so important! Knowing how to care for your dog's coat type properly is half the battle. I am always more than happy to answer questions about brushing techniques for your breed and even provide demonstrations, but some basic advice is as follows:

For short hair you want a rubber brush and for long hair you want a long comb! Additionally, having a grooming schedule is also important for breeds who have high maintenance coats, to be sure your pup stays comfortable. It’s always important to call your groomer as soon as you see matting on your pup. Matting can lead to bruising, hot spots and bad circulation for your fur baby, which no one wants, especially them. Matting can also be avoided with proper brushing and grooming routines. You will never be met with judgment at the 4 Pawz salon, we are here to help your pup get back to being gorgeous, not to judge! We love all your pups here at 4 Pawz no matter how big or small, short or tall, rambunctious or nervous, we will pamper them all and get them strutting their stuff right back to you!

Feel free to call Maddie at the Spaw directly at 1-802-661-8559 Sunday to Thursday to book a spaw session or to ask her any grooming related questions!
